Provenance. Prénom dérivé d'Hélène. Vient du grec "helê", signifie : "éclat du soleil" Se fête le 18 août.
Histoire. Fille d'un garçon d'écurie, née en 249 en Turquie, elle devient la concubine du tribun Constance Chlore, dont elle aura un fils, Constantin. Lorsque Constance est promu empereur sous le nom de César, il la renvoie. Cependant, elle accèdera au rang d'impératrice lorsque son fils Constantin deviendra à son tour empereur en 325. Convertie au christianisme, elle en favorisa le développement.
Caractère. Sympathiques, mais pas toujours faciles à vivre au quotidien, ce sont des sentimentales. Leur très forte émotivité les rend quelque peu capricieuses. Elles ont tendance à vivre dans l'imaginaire et à fuir les réalités du train-train quotidien. Douces, grandes rêveuses, imaginatives, coquettes, élégantes, habiles, voilà ce qui qualifie ces femmes qui affectionnent tant les mots doux et les câlins.
