Provenance. Vient de l'hébreu "Yered" Signifie: "Dieu fera descendre sa grâce" Fête indéterminée.
Histoire. Jarod est un très ancien nom. Dans la bible, c'est celui d'un patriarche qui aurait vécu 962 ans... Il est le grand père de Mathusalem. Ce nom évoque aussi une très ancienne ville de Chaldée. Ce prénom est resté en usage dans la Nouvelle-Angleterre sous la forme de Jared jusqu'au XIXème siècle. Il a disparut totalement pour réapparaître mystèrieusement dans les années 60. On écrit ausi Jarrod, Jarred.
Caractère. Peu expansifs, relativement timides, ils préfèrent observer plutôt qu'agir. Emotifs, très attentifs, sensibles, ils redoutent le monde extérieur qui empièterait sur leur jardin secret. Affectueux, ils sont fidèles et honnêtes. Leur morale est très rigoureuse. Ils ont horreur des gens qui parlent fort et qui gesticulent, mais apprécient l'élégance et la discrétion.
