Provenance. Prénom dérivé de Laurent. Vient du latin "laurus", signifie "laurier" Se fête le 19 octobre ou le 10 août.
Histoire. Chrétienne, Laura se fait moniale à la mort de son mari. Elle est martyrisée à Cardoue, en Andalousie, l'année 864 avec d'autre chrétiennes parce qu'elles refusent de se convertir à l'Islam. Elle fut jetée dans un chaudron de plomb bouillant. On la fête le 19 octobre. - Au Chili, Laura Vicuna fait le sacrifice de sa vie pour la conversion de sa mère et meurt en Argentine en 1904. Elle est béatifiée par Jean-paul II en 1988. On la fête le 22 janvier. Le 10 août, on fête saint Laurent.
Caractère. Elles respirent la bonne humeur et la joie de vivre. Ce sont des colériques nerveuses d'une grande émotivité. Leurs réactions sont souvent rapides et déconcertantes. Susceptibles, difficiles à cerner, elles se découragent facilement devant l'échec et ont besoin de se sentir soutenues pour réussir. Ce sont des femmes-enfants, pleines de charmes, qui aiment se faire protéger. Assez timides, elles manquent souvent de confiance en elles et recherchent la sécurité avant tout.
