Provenance. Diminutif d'Amandine. Vient du latin "amans", signifie : "amoureux" Se fête le 9 juillet.
Histoire. Franciscaine d'origine belge née en 1872, Pauline Jeuris se fait missionnaire en Chine. Ses soeurs l'appellent Amandine et les chinois qui la côtoient : "la vierge qui rit toujours". Elle subit le martyre avec plusieurs de ses compagnes, massacrées par les Boxers, membres d'une secte fanatique, le 9 juillet 1900. Elle est alors âgée de 28 ans.
Caractère. D'esprit ouvert, d'une intelligence vive, elles sont cependant peu objectives. Curieuses de tout, très dynamiques, intransigeantes, elles manquent parfois de souplesse avec leur entourage.Très sensibles, susceptibles, elles ont parfois recours à la "bouderie". Leur délicatesse et leur discrétion font d'elles des femmes raffinées et distinguées.
