Provenance. prénom dérivé d'Edith. Vient du germain "ed et idh " Signifie : " richesse et travail " Se fête le 16 septembre.
Histoire. Au Xème siècle, Sainte Edith est la fille d'Edgar le Pacifique, roi des Anglo-Saxons, et de Sainte Wilfride. Lorsque sa mère entra au couvent, elle l'y accompagna et vécut comme moniale au monastère de Wilton où elle mourutt très jeune, en 984.
Caractère. Ce sont des "fonceuses" qui ne changent pas facilement d'avis. Femmes d'action, elles entraînent leur entourage par leur enthousiasme et leur détermination. Honnêtes, scrupuleuses, elles n'attachent de l'importance qu'à l'essentiel, méprisant les futilités. Elles sont assez autoritaires, possessives et jalouses.
