Provenance. Diminutif anglo-saxon d'Eléonore. Vient du grec "el et enor" Signifie : "richesse et honneur" Se fête le 25 juin.
Histoire. Eléonore, belle-soeur de Louis IX, épouse Henri III, roi d'Angleterre en 1236. Maladroite en nommant des français à des postes importants, elle provoque une insurrection contre la couronne. Exilée en France, elle formera une armée et retournera en Angleterre pour délivrer son mari fait prisonnier. Veuve, elle se retire chez les bénédictines où elle vit saintement. Cette sainte n'a jamais été canonisée.
Caractère. D'humeur changeante, elles ne sont pas faciles à suivre. Elles ont souvent un regard pessimiste sur les évènements. Réservées, fières, elles n'ont pas le contact très facile. Rêveuses, très sensibles, elles sont davantage portées sur les métiers artistiques. Elles respectent les traditions et attachent beaucoup d'importance aux valeurs familiales.
