Provenance. Prénom dérivé de Renaud. Vient du germain "ragin et waldan" Signifie : "conseil et gouverner" Se fête le 17 septembre.
Histoire. Originaire de Picardie, au XIème siècle, Renaud se fait moine à Soissons. Il quitte son couvent pour mener une vie d'ermite dans la forêt de Craon, en Mayenne. Puis, il participe à la fondation de l'abbaye de Fontevrault. Plus tard, il rejoint la forêt du Mélinais, près de la Flèche, dans la Sarthe où il vécut en solitaire et y mourut en 1104.
Caractère. De nature discrète et douce, très consciencieuses, elles aiment le travail bien fait. Exigeantes avec elles-mêmes, ordonnées, elles savent se montrer fermes. Elles ne manquent pas d'autorité et se font respecter aisément. Méfiantes, faisant preuve d'une certaine réserve, elles ne donnent pas leur confiance facilement, mais sont très fidèles en amitié comme en amour.
