Provenance. Prénom d'origine anglo-saxonne. Scot signifie en vieil anglais: "écossais" Se fête le 8 novembre.
Histoire. Au début de notre ère, le peuple gaëlic qui vivait en Irlande et qui émigra au nord de l'Angleterre donna son nom au pays, vers le VIème siècle. Les "Scott" sont fêtés le jour de la saint Jean Duns Scot, théologien écossais de l'ordre des franciscains. Il vécut à la fin du XIIème siècle. Le Pape Jean Paul II l'a béatifié en 1993.
Caractère. De tempérament vif et actif, optimistes, leur bonne humeur est communicative. Leur forte personnalité, leur autorité naturelle, en font des meneurs d'hommes. Ce sont des "jouisseurs" qui aiment profiter de tout ce que la vie leur donne. La chance est souvent de leur côté. Imaginatifs, rêveurs, ils adorent fabuler. Un peu velléitaires, ils ne se donnent à fond que s'ils sont passionnés. En amour, ils profitent du moment présent sans penser aux conséquences éventuelles.
